Our Background

Drawing inspiration from Late Shri S.D.Kane Alias Oja Shankar, the ‘Purva Seema Vikas Pratishthan’, a Mumbai based educational institution was established to foster the spirit of universal brotherhood and proper knowledge of each other’s culture, for the better integration among the people of various states of India.

Purva Seema Vikas Pratishthan (PSVP) has been actively functioning in Manipur, one of the most volatile and troubled state of the North-Eastern India, for last 35 years mainly in the field of education and culture. “National Integration through Education” is our motto. We have established two schools in this state imparting quality education. One of them is at Kharasom in Ukhrul District, just a few miles inside the Myanmar border. The school is known as the ‘Oja Shankar Vidyalaya’ named after Late Shri S.D.Kane, who has done a pioneering work in the Manipur State in the field of education and culture. The second school is at Tamenglong which itself is a district headquarter. It is known as ‘Pou Shankar Kane Vidyalaya’. Both of these schools run a hostel each and have earned a respectable name in this area.

In addition to our educational activities, we conduct medical camps regularly. We also organize seminars and get-togethers to disseminate information about various courses conducted by the Indian Universities as well as  ‘modus operandi’ of getting admission for them. We also undertake tour programs for the eminent citizens of the border area. We take them to various places of historical and cultural importance in the different States of India. This evolves the spirit of oneness in them and helps build national integration. The PSVP has an express desire to achieve its goal of fostering national integration among the people of this region. With this view in mind we are expanding our catchment areas and widening our scope.
